is an international communication design studio operating between Los Angeles and Berlin. The studio’s projects lie at the intersection of communications media including branding, interactive design and development, print and exhibition. At the studio, each project begins with a careful exploration of its unique context, mission, values and aspirations. It is from this foundation that the content (both verbal and visual) is developed and honed, in order to craft highly customized pieces of communication design.


ABIGAIL SMITH is an award-winning creative director with over 15 years experience managing, designing, and implementing multinational communications projects. Her work has been featured in Dazed Magazine, Communication Arts, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Deutsche Welle, and Transmediale Festival among others. Prior to studio life, Abigail was a Design Officer at the United Nations in New York from 2007-2008, and in Switzerland from 2009-2011. Born in Washington DC, educated at Carnegie Mellon University and Parsons School of Design. Past clients and partnerships include: Penguin Books, Google, Magnum Photos, Gates Foundation. Campaign celebrity engagements include: Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Mandy Moore, Mariela Castro, Ban Ki-moon. Member of the Awwwards Jury.

LILY CHANG is a keen cultural connoisseur. Since graduating from Columbus College of Art & Design, she has embarked on an unrelenting quest to research and analyze global visual information. Some call it cool-hunting, to Lily it is akin to breathing. Having lived in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the United States, Lily is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin, as well as English. Along with her design and global trend-forecasting activities, Lily oversees VV’s accounts in SE Asia.
